DAY 1: Christchurch
After the overnight flight to New Zealand then Christchurch, the second largest city of the country and transfer to the hotel, the morning will be free for you to recover from the long journey and adapt to the time zone. We will have a welcome dinner and orientation to the expedition. Enjoy the afternoon walking around the main streets of the city center, or just stay resting in the hotel. (D)

DAY 2: Mount Cook
We will start the day with a visit to the central botanical gardens. Early in the afternoon our destination will be Aoraki Mount Cook with stops at Lake Pukaki and the famous Good Shepherd church at Lake Tekapo. After dinner we will make some long exposure photos of the stars, with backdrops of Hooker Valley and Aoraki Mount Cook.

DAY 3: Mount Cook
Today we will explore the short walks in the Hooker and Aoraki valleys and Mount Cook with its beautiful lakes and parks, after that we will be traveling to Wanaka.

Our day will start with Lake Wanaka follow by Mount Aspiring National Park, Cardrona and Crown Range Valley.

After a photographic sunrise by the Lake Wanaka, we will travel to the region of Catlins Forest Park and Nugget Point lighthouse until the sunset.

Day 1: Christchurch to Franz Josef
Travel over the famous Arthur’s Pass to the historic gold mining town of Greymouth and then down onto the West Coast. You will visit Hokitika, famous for pounamu (jade), en route to Franz Josef, home of the mighty glacier.

Day 2: Free day in Franz Josef
The day is spent in Franz Josef, a World Heritage area. As well as the glacier, the area is famous for its excellent walking trails. There are many great options, but a guided trip (at passenger's own expense) will enable you to get closer to the glacier.

Day 3: Franz Josef to Wanaka
Depart early to visit Lake Matheson for a walk at this amazing mirror-like lake, stop at Fox Glacier for pickups, and then travel through the mountainous Haast Pass and Makarora. We pass by the beautiful Lake Hawea and arrive in Wanaka by late afternoon.

Activities: Walk Lake Matheson, visit Blue Pools, explore Wanaka.

Day 4: Wanaka to Queenstown
Take a scenic bike ride around the lake before we depart Wanaka and cruise down to the famous A.J. Hackett bungy site, where you can bungy if you dare! Then, it’s on to the ‘Adventure Capital of the World!’, the vibrant lakeside town of Queenstown.

Days 5, 6 & 7: Queenstown
With so much to see and do in and around Queenstown, you need three full days to take it all in! Day 1: Auckland to the Coromandel Peninsula.
Welcome aboard! Today we leave the big smoke of Auckland and head for the beautiful beaches of the stunning Coromandel. We'll dig a hole and soak at incredible 'Hot Water Beach' before moving on to famous Cathedral Cove. After that, it's time for a big first night where we'll really get to know each other!

Day 2:  Coromandel to Mount Maunganui.
Likely hungover, it's time to head south. After a quick stop in the surf town of Whangamata, we'll arrive at picturesque Mount Maunganui for the afternoon and evening.

Day 3:  Mt Maunganui to Rotorua.
Known as the adventure capital of New Zealand, we'll arrive into Rotorua today where you'll have the option of a tour and performance at Whakarewarewa Maori Village.

Day 4: Rotorua FREE DAY.
With far more things to do than we can fit into one day, today is a completely FREE DAY in Rotorua. White water rafting, luging, Hobbiton, the list of activities in Rotorua is almost endless!

Day 5: Rotorua to Taupo.
With two days in 'Rotovegas' under our belts, it's time to head to Taupo - home of NZ's largest lake. If you've come to New Zealand to bungee or skydive, today is your chance! Whatever you do, make sure you save some energy for tonight, as we paint the town red!

Day 6:  Taupo to Wellington.
Today we make the drive south to New Zealand's capital - Wellington. Along the way, we'll check out NZ's military history at the National Army Museum.

Day 7: Wellington FREE DAY.
You'll often hear Kiwis say, "you can't beat Wellington on a good day." Today we let this beautiful city prove it to you as you have the entire day free to explore.

Day 8: Wellington to New Plymouth.
After two days in 'Welly', it's time to make our way north again. Today, we set our sights for New Plymouth. This beautiful part of the country will play host to us as we check out its natural beauty by day, and its epic nightlife that night!

Day 9: New Plymouth to Raglan.
New Zealand has some of the most incredible limestone caves and glowworms in the world, and today you'll get the chance to see it all for yourselves as we visit the famous Waitomo Caves. After that, it's up to the surfing village of Raglan for some 'Fish & Chips' and a sunset boat party!

Day 10:  Raglan to Auckland.
Just because it's our last day doesn't mean we're slowing down. Raglan is home to some of New Zealand's best surf breaks, and those of you keen to 'give it a crack' can take advantage of the awesome surf school at our accomodation this morning. After lunch it's back up to Auckland to say Haere Rā.

Skydive from 12,000ft above stunning Lake Taupo, with New Zealand's top rated drop zone! Take in spectacular views of the Tongariro National Park and the Central Plateau. With free return transport from your accommodation in Rotorua, free USBs, internet uploads and the most camera options in New Zealand, a skydive with us is unforgettable.

Your day will begin with a pickup from your Rotorua accommodation in our van. Alternatively, you have the option to self-drive to the drop zone if you’d prefer, there will be plenty of parking.

Upon arrival, you will be asked to sign a waiver form before being taken through your options regarding altitude and cameras. If you decide you wish to do the 15,000ft instead you can pay for the upgrade directly on the day.

Once you've decided on your height and camera options it's time to get ready! You will be shown you through the hangar where you can store your belongings in our lockers before gear up.

It's gear up time! You will meet your tandem master and camera man, smile and wave for the camera and watch the safety video while we outfit you in a jumpsuit, harness, hat and goggles.

When you're all geared up it's time to enter the plane and take off. Your tandem master will point out the beautiful sights around the Lake Taupo region on your scenic flight up to altitude, which takes about 15-minutes.

The moment of truth has arrived - it's time for freefall! Your tandem master will move you towards the door. Stop and smile for a quick photo before exiting, then experience the amazing feeling of freefalling at 200kph above Lake Taupo! Enjoy 40 seconds from 12,000ft, and spot the coast to coast views and snowy volcanoes of Tongariro National Park!

At 5,000ft your tandem master will deploy the parachute and you float back to earth, enjoying more of the stunning views. You may even get to steer the parachute! Upon landing, you will take a post-freefall picture.

After the skydive we will de-gear you, then grab a glass of water while you laugh at your skydiving video in our cinema. Just before you leave you can check out the T-shirts and Hoodies on offer in the shop, then we'll give you a certificate before taking you back to your accommodation in Rotorua.

Starting from Christchurch, we will take you on an adrenalin-fueled South Island experience that is bursting with optional activities to get your blood pumping. We include two days in Queenstown to maximise the rush. It all starts at 8am at our Haka accommodation in Christchurch and ends around 9am on day 12 in Wellington.

As with all our tours, we do include a few 'must-do' events, ranging from a pounamu pendant carving experience, and the chance to paddle a waka (Māori canoe) with your group.

We have a massive range of optional activities available to add, from bungy jumping and dolphin swimming to jet boating and scenic flights. None of these are compulsory; just add the ones you want. Simply let your tour guide know. 

As the tour starts early in the morning, you can opt to stay at our Haka accommodation in Christchurch the night before the tour – only having to walk downstairs on the day the tour starts makes for a stress free morning.

4 Queenstown to Wanaka
After the excitement of Queenstown, today is a chance to chill. Wanaka is Queenstown’s slightly quieter little sister, a mere one hour drive away. On the way we’ll stop in at charming Arrowtown, a historic gold rush village with heaps of old world character.

5 Wanaka to Franz Josef
After a relaxing morning in Wanaka, the journey to Franz is an another stunner – many of our Haka Guides rate it as their favourite drive in New Zealand.

6 Franz Josef
With Aoraki/Mount Cook (New Zealand’s highest mountain) twinkling behind the glaciers, Franz Josef is about as beautiful a setting as you can find in New Zealand.  Included in your tour today is a special opportunity to carve your very own pounamu pendant at a local gallery.

7 Franz Josef to Punakaiki

11 Abel Tasman to Wellington
Today you’ll start things off by learning to paddle a traditional waka (a Māori war canoe). Experience a karakia (blessing for protection) and learn tikanga (waka etiquette) all while getting out on the water to enjoy this unique included activity.

Our road trip continues along the northern edge of the South Island this afternoon. We’ll stop for tasting at a local winery, and there's a chance to taste some famous New Zealand mussels in Havelock as we wind our way towards Picton to catch the evening ferry to Wellington.
